My Travel Round The World

I live in a beautiful small town and like to travel very much. Unfortunately, I have no a chance to make a long journey. That’s why I have decided to travel round different countries in my imagination. But what route should I choose? I’ve thought it’s interesting to travel round countries which are in the latitude of my hometown. It’s 58°05 N. On the map I’ve found countries which are in this parallel. They are: Russia (Sverdlovsk region and St Petersburg), in Europe – Sweden, Norway and Scotland, and in Northern America – Canada and the USA (Alaska).
So, I begin my way.



Nizhnyaya Salda

• Nizhnyaya Salda is a small town in

Sverdlovsk region, Russia, located on

the Salda River, 205 km north of

Ekaterinburg. Population: 17.610.

• It was founded in 1760 by Nikita

Demidoff and was in the Demidoff’s

empire. Town status was granted to it in

1938. Now it is famous in iron-and-

steel and space technology industries.


Sverdlovsk region is a federal subject of Russia located in the Urals. Its administrative center is Y ek a t eri nbu r g , the c apital of the Ural region. The Urals are the heart of Eurasia. This is where Eastern Europe and Northern Asia are connected and divided by a chair of mountains stretching for 2.400 km The Urals is the second most populated area of Russia. One of the unique features of the Urals is the spectrum of mineral resources found there. It led to today’s dense industrial life with busy cities and hard-working people.
Russia ( the Russian Federation) is the largest country in the world.
It is situated in Eastern Europe and Northern Asia. It’s area is 17.1 million square kilometres: like the USA and Europe together, 9000 km from east to west and 5000 from north to south. The country is washed by 12 seas of 3 oceans.
The population is about 150 000 000. There are more than 100 ethnic groups in Russia. The official language is Russian.
There are over 2 million rivers in Russia. Europe’s biggest river is the Volga. The world’s deepest lake is Baikal. Russia has one-sixth of the world’s forests. There are various types of climate. Russia is very rich in oil, iron ore, natural gas, copper, nickel and others.
The capital city is Moscow. It’s the largest political, scientific, cultural and industrial centre of Russia. It’s one of the oldest Russian cities.
St. Petersburg is the 2nd largest city in Russia and one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It was founded in 1703 by Peter I as the “Window on the West”. Now it is an important industrial, cultural, tourist and educational centre. The city is called the Northern Venice. It is indeed a wonderful city. Petersburg is also famous for its canals, bridges and beautiful white nights.
The Kingdom of Sweden is a Nordic country on the Scandinavian Peninsula in Northern Europe. It is the 3rd largest country in the European Union by area.
Its population is about 9.4 million. Sweden’s capital is Stockholm, which is also the largest city.
Sweden has a low population density of 21 inhabitants per square kilometre with the population mostly concentrated to the southern half of the country. About 85% of the population live in urban area.
Sweden is a constitutional monachy with a highly developed economy. In 2010 Sweden was ranked as the 2nd most competitive country in the world, after Switzerland.
The Kingdom of Norway is a Nordic country on the Scandinavian Peninsula. It’s population is about 4.99 million. It is the 2nd least densely population in Europe. The capital city is Oslo. Norway’s extensive coastline, facing the North Atlantic ocean and the Barents sea, is home for its famous fiords. Norway has the highest human development index ranking in the world.


Scotland is a country that is part of the United Kingdom. Occupying the northern third of the island of Great Britain, it shares a border with England to the south. In addition to the mainland, Scotland constitutes over 790 islands including the Northern Isles and the Hebrides. Edinburgh, the country's capital and 2nd largest city, is one of Europe's largest financial centres. The Great Highland Bagpipe is a famous Scottish musical instrument. Everyone knows great Scottish writers: W. Scott, R. Burns, R.L. Stevenson, A.C. Doyle, J.M. Barrie and others.
Canada is a country in Northern America. It extends from the Atlantic ocean in the east to the Pacific ocean to the west. Its area is over 9.9 million. Canada is the 2nd largest country in the world. It’s a bilingual nation. English and French are official languages. It is one of the most highly-developed countries in the world. Its population is 33 million. The capital city is Ottawa. The state head is the British Queen Elizabeth II.
Canada is famous for its environmental protection.
Alaska
Alaska is the largest state in the United States by area. It is situated in the northwest extremity of the North American continent, with Canada to the east, the Arctic Ocean to the north, and the Pacific Ocean to the west and south, with Russia further west across the Bering Strait. Alaska is the 4th least populous and the least densely populated of the 50 United States. The state flag of Alaska was designed by 13th-year old boy .


CONCLUSION
I really enjoyed working on this project. It was exiting and very interesting for me. I have learned a lot of new and useful things. I think this information will help me at English and Geography lessons. I hope my work will be interesting for my classmates too.
And I know that one day this travel will be true.
